Fixing Common Map Install Issues

The most common GTA 6 map install problems are crashes on launch, textures not showing (pink surfaces), and maps not showing up in-game.

If the game crashes upon load, uninstall the newest map, verify the integrity of game files through your launcher, then do a clean reinstall. Most crashes occur due to missing prerequisites or not having a memory extender installed.

Missing textures generally indicate that files were placed in the incorrect RPF archive, or got corrupted during the extraction process. Try extracting them again to a new folder.

If you can't find the map in-game, double-check the path to the custom maps folder in the map creator's readme. Most creators state the file path explicitly. No guessing.
