Creator Guide
Everything you need to build, package and publish custom maps for GTA 6 on GTA 6 Maps.
1. Plan your map
Start with a single clear concept - a precinct, a track, a heist stage. Small, focused maps perform better than sprawling unfocused builds.
2. Build in-engine
Use Rockstar's official map editor or community tools like CodeWalker6. Keep polygon counts sensible; most downloaders are on mid-range PCs and consoles.
3. Test, test, test
Test on a clean install. Check collision, spawn points, script triggers and edge cases. Ask 2-3 beta testers to walk through before you upload.
4. Package
Include a readme with install steps, version number, known issues and contact info. Zip everything into a single archive under 2 GB.
5. Upload
Head to /create, fill in the form, add a crisp 1920×1080 cover screenshot, and submit. Approval typically lands in under 48 hours.
6. Grow
Respond to comments. Post updates when you fix bugs. Share your map page on Discord, Reddit and TikTok. Consistent activity pushes you toward Verified and Pro tiers.
