How do I install a GTA 6 custom map?
Download the .zip / .rar / .7z archive from any map listing page, extract it into your GTA 6

Are GTA 6 maps free to download?
Yes - every map on GTA6Maps.com is 100% free. Creators who want to charge for premium bundles list those on our sister marketplace, GTAModding.net.
What file formats are accepted?
Map archives are
.zip, .rar or .7z. Files up to 1 GB go through R2 and VirusTotal scanning. Files between 650 MB and 1 GB are auto-approved without scanning (VirusTotal can't scan files that large) and a notice appears on the map page. Files over 1 GB must use a Google Drive share link instead.My download is stuck - what do I do?
Clear your browser cache and try again, or try a different network. If it persists, hit the Report button on the map page (under the Save / Share row) and we'll review within 24 hours.
How big are GTA 6 map files?
MLO interiors typically run 5-50 MB. Roleplay precincts and hospitals are 50-300 MB. Full open-world expansions can be 500 MB to 2 GB. Each map page lists the file size next to the download button.

I run a roleplay server - which maps should I install first?
Start with the roleplay maps category - precincts, hospitals, civic halls, residential blocks. Layer 10-30 of them to build a believable city for your heist and mission-pack RP scenarios.
Where are the race tracks and drift maps?
Hotlap circuits, drag strips and rally stages live in race tracks. Touge passes, parking-lot drift and slalom courses are in drift. Megaramps and stunt parks are in stunt & parkour.
Which maps are good for solo play?
Try open-world expansions for new explorable terrain, mission packs for voice-acted campaigns, zombie & survival for horde sandboxes, or heist setups for one-shot blockbuster runs.

How do I upload my own GTA 6 map?
Sign up, verify your email, then head to upload. You can upload via R2 (up to 1 GB) or paste a Google Drive share link for larger files. Read the creator guide before submitting if you're new.
How do creator tiers work?
Tiers are shared with GTAModding.net. Rising is the default (0-3 approved maps), Verified = 4+ maps with a 4.0+ average rating, Pro Creator = 10+ maps with 500K+ downloads and 4.5+ rating, Elite = 25+ maps with 2M+ downloads and top-percentile ratings, and Partner is invitation only. Tier is auto-recomputed daily.
Can I edit my map after it's approved?
Yes. Go to your dashboard map list, open the map's manage page, and edit title / tagline / description / category / tags. To replace the file, submit a new version - it goes through virus scanning and auto-activates when clean. Your previous version stays available until then.
How do screenshots and version history work?
On your map's manage page you can upload up to 10 screenshots (lightbox gallery on the public page). New versions appear in a Version history list with changelogs. Manage screenshots and versions from your maps dashboard.
Can I sell my map?
GTA6Maps.com is free-only. To sell premium tiers, bundles or early-access releases, submit them to GTAModding.net - same review pipeline, plus payouts, 85% revenue share and creator tiers.

How do I save my favorite maps?
Tap the heart on any map page to save it. Your full list is on /dashboard/saved. Sign in required.
How do I update my profile or socials?
Update everything at /dashboard/profile - display name, bio, avatar, plus links to your Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Discord, GitHub, GTAModding.net profile and personal website.
I forgot my password.
Use the Forgot password link from the sign-in page. We'll email a reset link that expires in one hour.
How do I unsubscribe from emails?
Every transactional email includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer. Critical security emails (password resets, email verification) still send. You can re-subscribe any time via the same link.
Is my data deleted if I unsubscribe?
No - unsubscribing only suppresses non-critical emails. To delete your account and all associated data, contact support.
Safety, scanning & online play

Are GTA 6 maps safe to install?
Every uploaded archive runs through VirusTotal before approval. Files larger than 650 MB can't be scanned by VirusTotal and are auto-approved with a visible notice on the map page - verify the creator and file source before installing those.
Can I use custom maps in GTA Online?
No. Custom maps must only be used in offline / story mode or dedicated private servers. Loading them while connected to GTA Online can result in an account ban.
What if I find a malicious map?
Use the Report button on the map page (Malware option). Reports are reviewed within 24 hours; flagged maps are pulled and the creator account is suspended pending investigation. Critical issues can also reach us via contact.
Is modding GTA 6 legal?
Modding GTA 6 single-player on PC is permitted under Take-Two's official policy. Don't ship maps that include ripped Take-Two IP, and never load custom maps while connected to GTA Online.
How do I file a DMCA takedown?
Send a takedown request to maps@gtanetwork.net or follow the instructions on our DMCA page. We review within 48 hours.
Troubleshooting installs
Fixes for common install problems.
The map doesn't appear in-game after install.
Double-check the install path against the creator's readme. Most maps go in
mods/maps/ - some MLOs need a file browser tool to swap files inside an RPF archive. The install guide covers the common stumbling points.My game crashes after installing a map.
Remove the most recent map, verify game files in your launcher, then reinstall cleanly. 90% of crashes come from conflicting mods, missing prerequisites or outdated tools.
Can I install multiple maps at once?
Yes, but install one at a time and test between each. Two maps occupying the same coordinates will conflict silently. Bumping load order or removing duplicate ymaps usually fixes it.
FPS drops when I install large maps.
Lower shadow and texture quality, and reduce draw distance. Stack-heavy installs (multiple roleplay MLOs in one zone) need a memory extender to keep streaming smooth.
I'm new to map modding - where do I start?
Read the install guide first - five minutes of prerequisites. Then pick one map from the best GTA 6 maps shortlist and try installing it solo before stacking 10+ MLOs.

How do I rate or review a map?
Sign in, go to the map page, scroll to the Reviews section, pick a star rating and optionally add a body. You can update your review at any time. You can't review your own maps.
How are trending maps ranked?
Trending uses a recency-weighted score:
4 × downloads(3h) + 1 × downloads(24h) + 0.25 × downloads(72h). The full picture lives on the downloads leaderboard.Why doesn't my comment show up?
If your comment hit our spam-filter rate limit (more than 5 comments per minute) it's silently dropped. Wait a minute and retry. If it still doesn't appear, contact support.
How do I report a creator or comment?
Map pages have a Report button next to Save/Share. Report a comment by clicking the Reply icon - the staff queue surfaces all reported items.

Where's the sitemap?
Our XML sitemap lists every category, map, creator and guide. It's at /sitemap.xml and is also referenced from /robots.txt for crawlers.
