Is installing GTA 6 maps legal?
Yes - it is allowed to mod GTA 6's single-player mode on PC, per Take-Two's official modding policy. Do not load custom maps while in GTA Online. Only use mods in offline or private sessions.
Where do I install a downloaded map?
Extract the archive and read the creator's readme. Most map files are installed to the game's custom maps directory using a file browser tool. A memory extender may be required for larger overhauls.
Can I upload my own map?
Yes - free maps can be uploaded through the /create page. If you would like to sell your map, we will route you through GTAModding.net's paid submission process.
Are the maps safe to download?
Each upload is scanned for malware prior to publishing. If anything gets past our filters, report it on the map page and we'll investigate within 24 hours.
Do these maps work on PS5 or Xbox?
Maps are mainly PC-only due to console platform restrictions. There are a few visual-based overlays that are console-compatible through approved channels - see the tags on each map for compatibility.
